Manasalu Region

Manaslu is geographically based in the western part of Nepal. Mt. Manaslu, at 8163m is the eight highest peaks in the world which opened its trails for trekking only in 1992. This mountain is located near to the border of Nepal alongside Tibet. This is also one of the best destination for the tourist in Nepal. Though this is the age of science & modernism still people of this region are living in the traditional lifestyle which makes our trip more interesting & memorable along with the scenic beauty of Mt Manaslu and so on. You will also find time to interact with the local folks & understand through your guide who will interpret for you as to why these folks prefer to live by traditions. The main mountain of this region is mount Manaslu. The name Manaslu virtually means "The spirit-mountain"; the local people refer it to be the sympathetic and strong deity.

Geographical Feature: Naturally Manaslu Region contains large numbers of mountai. It has a geographical diversity. Definitely it has own characteristics which make it differ from the other places and famous for tourist. This region is combination of hills & mountains. Including Mount Manaslu altitude 8163 m from the sea level beside this there are so many others mountains situated in this region which are; Mt. Himalchuli (7893 m), Peak 29 (7839 m), Mt. Larke Peak, and so on with elevation of above 6000 m. In other hands there are some lakes like; Birendra Lake. This region is irrigated with the Bhotekosi River which is one of the famous river of Nepal.     

Biological Feature: In this region you can see pine, fire, rhododendron and many others herbs which are very valuable. Animals of this region are mountain sheep, dear, rear musk dear, etc. Animals and plants are conserving by Nepal government established the Manaslu Conservation Area.    

Location: Western part of Nepal Province No. 4 Gorkha district with the boarder of China. It’s located in the Manaslu Conservation Area with the area of 1,663 km2. It was established in year of 1998 by government of Nepal for the conservation of vegetation and animals.  

Major Mountains: Mount Manaslu is the most popular mountain of this region. Beside Mount Manaslu there are so many others mountains situated in this region which are; Mt. Himalchuli (7893 m), Peak 29 (7839 m), Mt. Larke Peak, and so on with elevation of above 6000 m.

Culture & Lifestyle: This region is highly influence with the traditional culture & lifestyle inhabitants of this region. This ethnic group was believed to migrate from Tibet many years ago. So their lifestyle, culture & custom are similar with Tibetan people. Their main occupation is traditional agriculture. In addition they grow vegetable, buckwheat, corn, wheat, barley and they also keep domestic animals like yak, cows, goats, sheep, etc.

Religion: Buddhism is the main religion of the region. So when you entry this region you can see so many monks and Buddhist temples praying wheels throughout your trip.

Accommodation: There is no worry about hotel and restaurant facilities. It was not like that before. There are enough guesthouses available with good hospitality with local culture in affordable prices having verities of menu included with local food. Food is prepared by the full experienced and trained cook.
