Annapurna Region

This region is one of the most popular destination for the tourist all around the world because of it scenic beauty. There is no doubt about it charm and it has its own popularity and incomparable naturel feature. From where you can observe so many others snow clads mountains, amazing Buddhist & Hindus culture, etc.

Geographical Feature: Naturally Annapurna contains so many mountains. It has a geographical diversity. Definitely it has own characteristics which make it differ from the other places and famous for internal & foreigner tourist. This region is combination of hills & mountains. Including Mount Annapurna I 8091 m altitude from the sea level beside this there are so many others mountains situated in this region which are; Mt. Annapuran II, Mt. Annapurna III, Mt. Annapurna IV, Mt, Gangapurna, Mt. Tilicho Peak, Mt. Machchhapuchhre, and so on with elevation of above 6000 m. In this region especially Manang & Mustang is also known as a desert of Nepal. Manag is most famous due to world highest Tilicho Lake (elevation 4919 m) and may others valuable herbs like Caterpillar Mushroom (Cordyseps). It’s really expensive and nutritious. 

In other hands there are so many famous lakes like; Tilicho lake, Ice lake, Gangapurna lake, Khair lake, waterfall like rainbow waterfall, ice waterfall, etc. The whole region is irrigated with Marsyandi River, Seti River, Modi River, etc. which originated from the mountain of this region.

Biological Feature: In this region you can see pine, rhododendron and many others herbs which are very valuable. Animals of this region are mountain sheep, dear, etc.

Location: Western part of the Nepal Province No. 4 Manang, Mustang, Kaski & Myagdi district with the boarder of China. It’s located in the Annapurna Conservation Area with the area of 7,629 km2. It was established in year of 1992 by government of Nepal for the conservation of vegetation and animals.

Major Mountains: Beside Mount Annapurna I there are so many others mountains situated in this region which are; Mt. Annapuran II, Mt. Annapurna III, Mt. Annapurna IV, Mt, Gangapurna, Mt. Tilicho Peak, Mt. Machchhapuchhre and so on with elevation of above 6000 m.

Culture & Lifestyle: This region is highly influence with the Gurung, Tamang, Magar, Thakali cultures. They are inhabitant of this region. Their main occupation is hotel & business & agriculture. In addition they grow vegetable, buckwheat and they also keep domestic animals like yak, cows, horse, etc. The yak & the horse are the main mean of transportation.

Religion: Buddhism & Hinduism are the main religion of the region. So when you entry this region you can see so many monks and Buddhist temples praying wheels throughout your trip in lower part of it you can see Hindus temple.

Accommodation: There is no worry about hotel and restaurant facilities. There are large numbers of guesthouses available with good hospitality in affordable prices having verities of menu included with local food. Food is prepared by the full experienced and trained cook.
